Hello ferret fans. I've been offline for awhile and it's good to be
back. Just this year my Pippin (5 yr MF sable male) had adrenal surgery.
Now we've been on a 1 month lupron shot cycle since the beginning of the
year. Pippin is in excellent health now. He grew back all his hair and
has recently gained lots of weight! I'm so pleased. THANK YOU LEANN &
JULIE!!! My friends gave me excellent advice when it came to how I could
handle this on a budget and I drove 3 hours to a vet that would do the
surgery fairly inexpensive.
There was much to be sacrificed when it came time to foot the bill.
I still have to try to come up with the funds for lupron every couple
months. Here's some ideas that I've tried that may help out: Have a
garage sale or go to a flea market. I've found that at some better flea
markets you can make a pretty penny on a Saturday. You can find local
flea markets by using a yahoo or google search engine and typing "flea
market + your state" in the search bar.
Do you make crafts or sew ferret bedding? Try a local church bazar or
craft show. Or try having an ebay auction. My fiance has an ebay store
so I've started putting my own personal collection items up. Those knick
knacks or porcelain dolls aren't worth sitting on my shelf if it means
good health for my ferrets. I've even been thinking about putting up my
ferret collectibles. There are many things around the house that good be
worth money for your ferrets, especially old toys. Look around! If
anyone has any questions or even better ideas feel free to email me.
Oh, and I will introduce my ferret family since it's been so long.
My boy Pippin (rescue about 4-5 yrs), Zira 3 yr MF cinnamon female,
Hannah 3 yr MF sable female, & Bowser 9 mths MF point male (who
should've been named Fatty Lumpkin!!)
and me Trish
