I need some advice. I have three ferrets, all roughly the same age
(1 1/2). They are all Marshall ferrets and came neutered when I bought
them. Just today I have noticed some very strange behavior. The two
boys have been sticking to my girl like glue and not leaving her side (to
the point where she is literally running away and dodging them). They
keep sniffing her butt and then rather aggressively scruffing, dragging
and shaking her. This seems to be going a bit further than just rough
play. I checked out her female bits (I don't know if they have the same
name in ferret anatomy) and she may be swollen a bit - I don't know what
is normal, and I think there might be a bit of blood (or some sort of
discoloration). How much do ferrets in heat bleed? Could she be in
heat after a year and a half of no symptoms? I afraid to leave her
alone in the cage with them since they are being so aggressive. What
do you all suggest/think?
Thanks!
Joan
