I thought I'd hare this with the FML, so we can run through the list of
why I named my fuzzy what... :)
 
Monica,
Best advice that I can give is to let her name herself.  Let me tell you
about the 5 furkids I've helped name....
 
Sleve is my oldest, my first, and dearest to my heart (just don't tell
Loki.)  Sleve was so named because he LOVES coatsleeves.  The night the
now ex-boyfriend and I went to look at ferrets, he went down the back and
out the sleeve.  When we went back the next day to buy, he did the same
thing to me.
 
Sox is one of the cousins.  He was named SOX because he was a silvermitt.
Note, I said WAS.  He's roaned out to almost a DEW.
 
B.B. is the other cousin.  B.B. is short for Betty Boobs, because she
has a cleavage fetish.  BB's mom was on laying on the floor with BB, and
she just kept heading for her chest!
 
Then there are the baby boys....
 
Snoova is a grey.  He was chewing on a sock the first night we had him
home.  I suggested to the now husband that we name him Chewbacca.
Husband is a Star Wars nut, so I thought he'd like it.  Wrong.  Too
Nerdy.  Snoova is a silver-tipped Wookie that Chewbacca dressed up at
in one of the Star Wars books.  (and he though Chewy was nerdy?!)
 
And then there's Loki.  Norse god of theivery and mischeif.  Appropriate,
right?  Loki is the only ferret that I've ever named.  And the last.
Everyone else I've let name themselves.  I should have continued.  Loki
has grown into his name.  Loki is constantly testing the boundaries of
what mommy says can't and can't be done.  He's always stealing the boxes
of treats from my desk.  Knocking down soda cans from daddy's desk at 4
AM.  And terrorizing the fish.  Loki is now nicknamed "fish Face" because
he likes to climb up one of our fish tanks, shimmy up between either the
fireplace and the side, or up between the back and the wall.  He then
pulls himself over onto the hood, and DRINKS.  Sometimes dunking his
entire little furry head into the water.  The fish are terrified.
 
So, my suggestion is two-fold.  Let the girl name herself.  But whatever
you do, DON'T NAME HER LOKI!  :)
