Hello fellow FML'ers..and condolences to all the angeled, lost, or hurt
furkids...
I have had one heck of a time the last few months. I'm sorry about not
thanking anyone for emailing me on any problems I posted about. I've had
a lot happen in the last couple months or so. My mom had a heart attack
a little before Easter so there goes the cards for the exchange.. I
never did get them sent, but I will at the next exchange. And that's not
all. Last week I had my first emergency vet trip. Seiko fell from the
top of his cage to the bottom and I thought he had broken his leg,
because when I touched it he screamed, but it turned out he had a broken
finger and one of the nails ended up getting shoved back into his paw :/
So they pulled the nail out..it was fairly bloody, but all went well.
See, I didn't know at the time, so I'm rushing, calling the vet, crying
and hoping to God nothing is wrong with him! And all it turns out to be
is a simple toe problem. So I'm happy that nothing else was wrong. Of
course, accidents always happen on the weekends in the middle of the
night..
Well enough about that already. :)
My next question is about ferret shows, I'm planning on going to the
Ferret Buckeye Bash in OH, but is that the closest one to me? I live in
southern Indiana, close to Louisville, KY, and there's nothing ferrety
going on around here ever. The closest things I ever know of are in OH
or Chicago. Is there anything ever going on in Indianapolis or within a
100 mile span of me? If not, is there a way for shows to be sponsored
around here or something?
And about ferret clubs... I posted a while back about wanting to set up a
club (not a shelter!), and I thought about it over and over and I can't
seem to find a place to actually have the meetings at. I've called local
pet shops and only one has a meeting room, but for some reason they won't
let me use it for meetings. Libraries don't allow pets, and I'm hoping
for somewhere that will allow animals. Any ideas? If I could just find
somewhere, then I could hopefully get one started up.
Think I've said enough.. :)
