In issue 479, Roger McMillian gives some instructions about retreiving
back issues. A few minor corrections:

>Back Issues of the Ferret Mailing List are kept in an archive system
>called LISTSERV. You can request up to 25 back issues in a 12-hour period
>from LISTSERV.

It's 100 files per day. A new day starts after midnight.

> 6. Type FILE REQUESTS in response to the SUBJECT: query.

The Subject: line is ignored... not even needed

> 8. use the GET command to request the issues you want by number,

I guess it needs to be clear though that the GET goes in the body of the
mail. (Though, where else?, you and I think, but you know how it goes).

LISTSERV can send them in other formats too, like UUENCODE or MIME, but
this probably won't be worth mentioning.

Perhaps also mention that INDEX FERRET will give a list of back-issues
with issue dates, as well as listing any other ferret-related files that
may be there. Like FERRET FAQ. (More to come, I hope).

By the way, so far we have distributed 3248 back issues! Pretty good in
getting the word out I'd say!

Bill
