Well welcome to CA.  Land of Tofu, Gray Davis and stupid politics.  Don't
you worry about the *"Weasels" , there are about 500,000 ferrets (I mean
"Weasels") in CA.  No biggy having them here.
 
Most apartments out here will let you have "Caged animals" and they don't
ask anything and if they do say it's a rabbit.  No more ferret walking
though.  But then you won't be exposing them to disease so it's good .
They passed a law out here that frees vets up to handle or help your
ferrets without reporting it to the CA F&G.  Cops don't even answer a
call about a ferret, you have to do something real dumb like goto a state
park and walk upto a ranger and say "Here's my ferret!!"  So calm down,
put them in your travel cage, and when you get to the border just toss a
towel over the cage.  When they ask you if you have any fruit say , "NO
sorry" and you drive away.  The last time we crossed the border it was
closed (no , not the state, just the station).  As for you drive , take
I-10 west to shearevport LA and go north to I-40 west, it's a much better
drive.  and you can see the cadilac ranch..
