For kibble I get Superior Choice Natural ferret food from
www.theferretstore.com They offer free shipping on orders over $25 (and
will ship in unmarked boxes on request for ferret-illegal areas). I also
get mini freeze-dried "Cat Patties" from www.petextras.com and crumble
them up 50/50 with the kibble. They don't offer free shipping, but the
patties hardly weigh anything.

Used sweatshirts/sweatpants! If you don't have any lying around, pick up
a bunch of them at Goodwill or somewhere like that. You can just leave
them in piles on the cage floor.
If you sew, cut the legs off a pair of sweatpants (with a drawstring
waist). Sew the bottom shut to make a pouch, and pull the waistband as
tight as you can. You end up with a fuzzy warm sleeping bag with a nice
little doorway. I have one ferret who won't sleep in anything BUT her
sweatpants bag. Then you can sew the two legs together at the top to
make a hiding/sleeping tube.

I "babysat" a cat for a friend once, and one of my ferrets did the same
thing to her. Since I wasn't keeping the cat, I never bothered to make
them get along though. I'd just put the cat in the bedroom when I let
the ferrets out.
