Subject: Broken leg

Way back in 1990, I think, we took in a ferret that had been thrown against
the wall and had its back leg broken in two places. The guy who did this
spent two days on the phone looking for the "cheapest vet" to take the
ferret. As it turned out, it was my vet and since the guy didn't want the
ferret anymore, as a rescue, we retrieved it after the operation. The
breaker did pay $200.00 to get the ferret's leg pinned. We did physical
therapy and the ferret went on to be adopted out and was normal for all
purposes which ferrets need to get involved. The pin was never removed.
