Been there, done that - almost exactly.
 
I was lounging on the bed reading by the nightstand light, and out of
the corner of my right eye I glimpsed my first to leave me, Gina.  This
happened within days/weeks of her crossing, and 2-3 different evenings.
It was over three years ago and I can't remember if Chipper went looking
for her too...

Chip, the original and oldest, left last Nov. for RB, and a friend gave
me a Guidepost book titled 'The Healing Power of Animals.'   Similar
short true stories are in it.
