Hello all
I haven't been here since the start of the year, but I wish to report,
sadly, that my pretty little girl, Princess, is gone.
She had insulinoma late last year, and underwent two surgeries, which I
would have reported on this mailing list. She came good after that, and
has had a good year since then, (apart from being wrestled by Oscar).
Last night I thought I spotted some hind end weakness, and then to-night,
shortly after I got home at around 10pm, I heard some strange moaning
sounds, and discovered her very cold and unresponsive. I took her
immediatly to the emergency vet, who didn't think she would last the
night, so given her history, and how cold she was, I decided to say
goodbye.
Princess was a rescue ferret so her age was unknown, but at least (only)
five years - I had her for four - and she was always incredibly skinny.
She was quite a hard biter when I got her, but once I started speaking
her language, that problem disappeared - she never even nipped after
that.
Princess loved her toy mice - I expect to start finding her stashes of
them around the house as I tidy up, and clean out behind the bookcase.
She had a trick of standing on the bean-bag, pausing, then rolling over,
and then repeating it. Only twice - never a third roll.
She also had the cutest pose when she was standing in a doorway trying to
figure out what was happening in the next room.
I have a feeling that tonight Clover will not be kicked off my bed, no
matter how much she nibbles my ankles.
Regards
Sandra, Clover, Oscar, Gemma-the-cat, and in memory, Princess in
Australia
