I recently had my dog to the vet and happened to notice the schedule for
this spring's rabies clinics when I was paying the bill. I scanned the
schedule for dates and my eyes passed over the word "ferret." I couldn't
believe it when I read that domesticated ferrets would now receive rabies
immunizations at these clinics!!! I've never heard of rabies clinics in
this area providing shots to anything but dogs and cats. I am ecstatic,
as I have three ferrets and it was going to cost $60 to take them to the
vet for their rabies shot...actually more since I believe I'm also
charged office visits for each of them (reduced for the 2nd and 3rd
ferret)!! I'll still need to take them for distemper shots in a couple
of weeks, but this is still saving me a bundle.
