In the March 1993 issue of Smithsonian Magazine there is an article on
wolverines. These 45 pound relatives of the ferret live in the far north.
The article mentions a pair of them that a couple raised from kits. They
would frisk and play with each other, just like a couple of ferrets. They
would also play with the family Labrador Retriever and the couple themselves.
A picture appears on page 145 of the pair at 7 weeks. With their masks they
look very much like ferret kits (although rather large ones). The article
also mentions some other ferret-like traits. They make caches of their food.
Also when tracking through the snow they walk with a hump-backed gait. It
is an article that ferret-lovers would enjoy.
