I had to pay to have my misdiagnosed cat put down.
 
In some ways, I feel for the vets, when a pet dies, as they did do
*something*; it did cost them something.  But many, in cases when the
pet dies, feel so bad for the owner, that they don't make a big deal
about final payment.  It must be a two-edged sword for them.
