Sunday at 4pm a fire broke out at Angie Georges home in Humboldt KS.
Angie and Mike and all the fuzzies are safe but they will be living in a
rented house for 60-90 days while the house is being repaired.

The roof caught on fire - something to do with the fireplace. Gas is
very expensive in their little town so they used the fireplace, and
took excellent care with having it cleaned and checked regularly.

The ferrets were out of their cage when it happened so they were
frantically searching for them as the volunteer fire people were telling
them to get out. Neither Angie nor Mike would leave till they found all
the fuzzies so the fire people helped look for the fuzzies. When the
cage was being taken down the stairs the bottom dropped out and the
fuzzies scattered so the search was on again. All but one was found when
they thought he might have ran outside and got lost. Sammy poked his
head out from under the entertainment center and was promptly retrieved!

Angie is stressed but they are hanging in there. No one was hurt in the
fire, though Mike banged him leg up when he was on the roof putting
plastic on the gaping opening afterwards.

The roof will be repaired and all that was water damaged replaced but it
will take time. The fuzzies are taking this much easier than Angie and
Mike!

If anyone would like to send a card to raise their spirits I know they'd
appreciate it. Here is their address:

Warm hugs. tle
