HI Anne,
 
NOt sure why FDA would be involved this is a health issue with monkeypox.
It should be the State heath dept - perhaps epidemiologistst or
agricultural depts overseeing this.
 
All NH licensed shelters have received (at least 10 days ago) mailed
instructions regarding prairie dogs and a host of other animals which IF
surrendered, or on premises MUST be reported immediately to the state
agricultural dept.
 
I would contact the NJ dept which oversees shelter permits and let
them know if this did not originate form their office that someone is
attempting to usurp their powers.
 
This is a great example of why FERRETS should NOT be regarded, thought
of, mentioned as EXOTIC ANIMALS!
