>I do know ferrets can get kennel cough 2yrs back it went through my

The post was from a noted veterinary pathologist, and you'll notice
that what he said is that kennel cough is a double infection in dogs --
of a specific bacterium and a specific virus simultaneously, and that
ferrets do NOT get the viral component, but some do catch the bacterial
component, so those have a shared bacterial infection, but do not have
the combination infection to which the term "kennel cough" refers
because they do not get the virus.
Here is what he said:
>Kennel cough in the dog is a combination of viral and bacterial
>infections and is specific to the dog. While your ferret has a
>remote chance of picking up the bacterial component, the syndrome
>of kennel cough is not a consideration in the ferret.
