I found an adult beagle last summer. We don't let her around our ferret
much, but sometimes they see eachother as we go through a door. I don't
trust the beagle with the ferret. She looks at him strangely and once
made a weak attempt to bite at him. And this beagle is old and not
terribly active--we call her the beagle hen b/c all she wants to do is
sit on her bed like she's hatching an egg.

For all I know our beagle has a hunting history--like I said we found her
late in life. But if this old lady has the energy to bite at our ferret
I think it must be in the blood somewhere.

I would recommend getting a different breed of dog. I can't imagine the
horror of having one pet kill/hurt another.
