My female ferret(6) has insulinoma. She is on prednisone malt syrup .5cc
once a day and fed a high protein diet since november 2002. She has
bulked up, gained energy and overall is doing very well. I recently
discussed pancreatic/nodulectomy(?) surgery with my vet since she is at
strong state in her illness. He suggested that we continue with the meds
since this treatment is working and not consider surgery until the pred
has to be increased and she no longer is responding well. Any
suggestions?
