1. FERRETFACES.COM DONATES CALENDARS FOR NYC COUNCIL MEMBERS!

Mary and Eric Shefferman (From Modern Ferret Magazine and
FerretDesigns.com) generously donated a FerretFaces.com calendar for
EACH New York City Council Member to help keep ferret legalization alive
in their minds throughout 2003! Show your thanks and appreciation for
their donation and ongoing support of NYC's legalization efforts by
visiting the FerretFaces.com website and ordering a calendar for
yourself or a friend as well as the Ferret Faces address book.

2. CALIFORNIAN'S FOR FERRET LEGALIZATION REQUESTS YOUR HELP

As many of you know, California is the only state on the continent where
ferrets are banned throughout the entire state. Many people think that
there's nothing they can do to help legalize ferrets in California if
they don't actually live *in* California, but that's not true.

The California Audubon Society and Sierra Club have actively opposed
bills to legalize ferrets in CA. The California chapters claim to be
representing the wishes of their National Offices but neither of those
organizations has ever opposed ferret legalization anywhere else!

Californians for Ferret Legalization has asked that EVERYBODY (even
people who do not live in CA) write letters to those two organizations
asking them to STOP OPPOSING ferret legalization in California.

3. RABIES VACCINATIONS FOR FERRETS ARE THE LAW IN NY STATE

A law went into effect on November 20th 2002 mandating that all dogs,
cats, and domesticated ferrets in New York State be vaccinated for
rabies. The law does NOT appear to apply to New York City. The new
law grants several exceptions and also provides ways to get rabies
vaccinations for FREE.

For more information on this topic including tips to help avoid vaccine
reactions, click on the appropriate link in the "Learn More About
Ferrets" section of the NYCFerrets.Com website.

4. THE FERRET STORE IS ON iGIVE

If you sign up for iGive (which costs you nothing) and select "NYC
Ferrets" as your cause, then EVERY time you shop online at "The Ferret
Store" (or any other store listed on iGive -including Ebay!) a percentage
of the money you spend will be donated to ferret legalization efforts in
NYC.

For more information on how iGive works, go to the NYCFerrets.Com website
and click on the "fundraising" link.

5. NYC FERRET MEETUP IS *THIS* SATURDAY

If you're planning to attend make sure you RSVP by clicking on one of the
links supplied in the last email sent to you by "Meetup.com." (The email
with the location and time details.) More people signed up for NYC's
Meetup than for ANY OTHER CITY in the US, but if less than 5 people reply
to the *confirmation* email sent by "Meetup.com" the Meetup will be
cancelled.

Once again, this is not a NYCFerrets.Com event nor is it legalization
related (nor should ferrets be brought along since it will take place
in a public establishment) It's just a convenient way for NYC ferret
lovers to get together in an informal setting and "meet up."
