Touch enrichments enhance the tactile senses of heat and cold, pressure,
and touch (we can skip the pain) using a variety of textures and touch
activities. Virtually anything that stimulates the sense of touch can
be enrichment. When my dear departed Foster was declining in health,
the opportunities for most enrichments became limited. Twice a week,
Foster was given a brand new roll of paper towels to explore, shred, and
generally have fun with, all the while stimulating his tactile senses.
