In my experience, the earlier that surgery can be done in insulinoma
patients, the better.  Even if there are not discrete tumors, removal of
a portion of the pancreas is almost always very helpful.  The fact that
your ferret is showing clinical symptoms points toward surgery as the
best treatment, if he seems able to withstand it.
