Hello,
Here are a few things that have helped us with ferret odor:
- Keep ears clean, it's amazing how much stink dirty ears emit!!
- Wash bedding, toys
- Air purifier
- Plug-ins
- I have a deodorizer spray called "Natural Magic" it is non scented and
breaks down the sulfur bonds that causes odors. I am always careful to
never spray directly on ferts or around food/water ect...
- Linoleum in the cage, easy to wipe down and clean.
- Scoop daily and clean litter pans frequently
- I use Yesterdays News (the cat kind, same as the kind for ferts, but
less expensive) mixed with a little All Pine, but be careful some ferts
are sensitive to pine.
- Natures Miracle spray cleaner, also the powder that you mix with the
litter. (has natural enzymes that break down the poopies and pee)
- Don't bathe ferts too much.
- No Marshalls food, too fishy, (seemed to make my ferts poppies
stinkier)
I like inscence and candles, but not in close contact with the ferrets,
too dangerous.
Personally, I think the ferts smell good!! It's the litter and the
bedding which can get rank.
Hope this helps,
suzi and the 7 little poop factories.
