A few days ago I posted our thanks to the people who have started and
maintained special programs for Support Our Shelters.  I'm still working
back through 2002 in getting our tax letters out, and there are so many
people who have gone above and beyond to help ferret shelters through
S.O.S.  Two examples of special efforts for 2003 have been posted
recently: the raffle an anonymous person asked Kat to run for Ferrets
Unlimited and Dr. Kemmerer's vet videos that Mike Janke has announced
she is donating to benefit S.O.S.
 
Last year's special fund raising efforts included exotic pictures of Dr.
Karen Purcell, Jeanne Carley's two Ferret Calendar prints, Valerie's
starch peanuts, Kat's afghans and leopard statuette, Diane's crystal
coach, Joanne's ferret clock .... and I'm so afraid I am forgetting
other wonderful things that people did for the ferret shelters!!!!  I
will thank more people as I remember them, or as you email me to give
my brain cells a kick.
 
One surprisingly large and generous gift was the $4000 that the
International Ferret Congress raised through the Las Vegas convention.
We knew they planned to split what they raised between S.O.S. and ADV
research, but we never expected such a donation!  It paid the final huge
vet bills for the Utah rescue.  That's another thing for you all to think
about as you plan for Atlanta... in addition to hearing great speakers
and meeting the great folks from the FML, you also support ferrets in
need.
 
Thanks again to all of you.  2002 was a year that brought out the best.
