Hi!
"(das) Frettchen"
-- German. Pronounced "(dahs) FREHT-chehn". And don't forget to roll
the "R" in your throat. :) "Das" means "the" (the word is of the neuter
gender). The "-chen" ending, by the way, is a diminuative used as a term
of endearment (like "Liebchen" -- "Little Love"). I am not sure what the
origin of "Frett-" is, though. Any German speakers out there?
"cxasputoro"
-- Esperanto. The x actually indicates that the "c" has a caret
("shift-6") on top of it. Prounounced "chas-poo-TORR-oh" (roll the "R").
It means "polecat that chases", roughly. Esperanto is an artificial
language created by L. L. Zamenhof in the late 1900's with the idea
that a completely regular language would be easy to learn, neutral in
terms of cultural or ideological or historical baggage, and thus would
make it easier for people to communicate with one another.
