>I don't believe any of the shelters in the PFSN have as many ferrets
>total than Troy Lynn has herself.

This is a huge assumption on your part. Her reply to the post on the
Oregon Shelter was in response to the post regarding an Oregon Shelter
having 150 ferrets where it was stated the shelter mom would not allow
anyone outside the network to help out. I personally know how many
ferrets Troy Lynn has and it is nowhere near what you are leading people
to believe. She does not take in ferrets on a regular basis and those
she takes in are special needs only and these are few and far between.

>The 5 hours each day is nothing...at least in my mind for people who
>have many many ferrets. Say 50 ferrets you have and if you spend 5
>hours a day with them that is...oh 6 minutes individually. No complaint
>there...if this is a shelter which is adopting ferrets out to folks who
>can spend more than 6 minutes per fert. Put permenently...well sick
>ferrets need more than 6 minutes a day.

While Troy Lynn's previous post may have been a bit misleading I would
like to set the record straight in that she spends the five hours a day
"cleaning" up after the ferrets. She goes nowhere other than to work
(about 10 hours per day) and then is home with her free roam ferrets the
other 14. She is constantly available both to them and to the telephone
to help others. She also "only" cares for the ferrets, no dogs, cats,
other pets or family. Her primary and only focus are the babies in her
care. She has had many people visit with her and the ferrets who can
verify the care the babies recieve.

>When shelters offer to take ferrets, as her numbers grow...Chris does
>NOT turn them away. She is very grateful for the help. Because she
>does not want shelter kids going to shelters which keep ferrets outside
>without bedding, which she has seen first hand...does not mean she is
>hoarding... she is considering the ferrets best interest.

I had read the post Troy Lynn wrote. I don't recall her accusing anyone
of hoarding. Where did that come from?

>What kind of x-mas is THAT-to be outside in the cold only to have
>someone come out to hose you down when the feces become to heavy? It
>has NOTHING to do with being a network (and a network IS a good thing..
>it's helped the many shelters that are part of the network, and most
>importantly the ferrets that are in those shelters).

We all know Troy Lynn well enough to realize she would not want the
ferrets to go to a shelter where they would be neglected or harmed in
any way.

>Troy Lynn is a person I've always respected and have enjoyed
>conversations we've had in the past. I'm terribly dissapointed to see
>her involve herself in gossip that she has no real facts on, forcing me
>to write against her.

I believe there has been some miscommunication going on here and I
certainly don't want to get in the middle of it all I only want to allow
people to see my perspective. I would certainly hate for this to
jeapordize friendships and the networking that goes on between those who
are so ferret knowledgeable. We all need one another for support and for
one another's knowledge base. I know I couldn't have gone through all I
did with Morrison and what occured with Spirit without all of you. Let's
band together again to do what is in the best interest of the ferrets.
It's what we all want and what the ferrets need.
