I'm veteran lurker here and just wanted to make a comment about the
ferret Giving Tree.  It's a wonderful idea and truly a joy to help such
sweet, needy little ferrets.  But please, those of you who own shelters,
take a minute to let your donors know that their gifts arrived and are
appreciated.  Even if they're not appreciated (the gifts, that is),
someone did spend a fair amount of their wages and also hours shopping,
wrapping and standing in line at the post office to send gifts to your
little ones.  Their intentions were good, and especially in this season
when everyone is bombarded with pleas for charitable help, someone did
choose to support you over many other requests.  It only takes 10 seconds
to send an email saying "thank you." Donors should not be left wondering
if their gifts even arrived!
