Sandi,
My point or question was not that the shelters here are getting the
ferrets, cause I am glad that they do, but why do you have to foot the
bill? You would think that if they call you or Leanne to come get them
that if the ferrets are ill that they would foot the medical bills.
Maybe they do already it was just an eye opener on how other state react
to other situations. I personally am very proud to know you and Leanne
and the work you all do. I just know that when they foster out cats and
dogs they do take care and foot the bills for them. Are ferrets in
another catagory of animals that they are not given the same care?
I am sure that the shelters cannot continue to foot these bills. I know
with the ferrets I have the cost is high and most of mine are not ill
(YET). Can you imagine what the cost on medical is for these shelters?
Look at your vet bills and tell me and you have other animals besides the
love ferret. No harm ment and keep getting those ferrets from the pound,
but wouldn't it be great if it were a perfect world and the ferret was
treated like any other animal and the pound would set up some kind of
fostering with the shelters and pay the vet bills.
LOL
Sunny
