Hi.
April mentioned that Lisa should get her ferret to the vet soon. I
agree! Pawing at the mouth and salivating, in addition to what April
mentioned, could be a result of insulinoma. I now have two that have
been recently diagnosed with insulinoma and both were pawing at their
mouths and drooling. One in particular, Clyde, was very lethagic. By
the time I got him to an emergency vet, his glucose was *17* and was
almost in a coma. Both ferrets, Clyde and Champ are now on Prednisone
and I am making sure that they also get frequent high protein meals via
syringe feedings.
