What a nice topic, I'll play :)
First of all I would like to know if Stacey Yea is still on this list?
She was my mentor when I first got my ferrets (4 years ago)? and we have
lost touch throughout the years. I would like to give her a BIG thank
you. For all those days and nights I would call her because I was *poop*
watching and thinking something was wrong with my babies, Stacey would
always have the right words and advise to get me calmed down, and she
always was able to direct me to the appropriate place to find the
education I needed to provide my ferrets with the best care. At that
time I didn't know much about ferrets, and to this day I believe ferret
education is a never ending learning experience, I am totally grateful
that Stacey was there for me in the beginning. Stacey if you are around,
or if anyone knows of her current email address, please contact me, and
thank you.
Many, many other things I am thankful for, here are just a few:
The internet.
I have learned so much about ferrets from all the *good* message boards
out there, I have met so many people that I now call friends, that I feel
will always be there for me, and I will return the favor to them, as a
matter of fact I think I can safely say that I have more friends on the
internet than I do here at home. I am so grateful that the education is
out there, not to mention the stories, friendship, love for ferrets that
I read about daily.
I am thankful that my ferrets (and other pets) are happy, healthy, and
not a day goes by that they can't put a smile on my face.
I am thankful for my health and happiness, and that I am able to provide
for my pets in the best way I know of.
I am thankful for the good shelters that are out there, that are able to
give these critters what they need. The love and care that they provide,
is often hard or me to conceive when I stop to think of the daily tasks
they have to manage, the sad, sad stories they hear, and the cost it
takes to give these ferrets adequate vet care. I am very thankful that
their are folks out there that are able to do this, and that their are
folks out there that support them.
Most important, I am thankful for having a loving and caring family
(including my friends) that will always be there for me, for this I will
always be grateful.
I am wishing that everyone here has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving.
