Hi all,
Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving. I want to share the best news
with the list. After the sadness of losing two of my fuzzies in Aug
and Sept, a month apart to the day, I finally have good news. I have
added instead of subtracted! I adopted a wonderful 3 yr old male, named
Casper, from Julie Fossa's shelter. I went to her shelter a few Sat
ago with the hopes of finding a friend for Zoey, who lost her buddy
Wriggley in Aug. Well, she wasn't real impressed with anyone we tried
to introduce her to but she reacted the least to Casper. Casper was due
for adrenal surgery the week after and Julie had that done and brought
him to me the following Saturday and I must say he is a winner, hands
down. He loves to play, loves to snuggle and loves to sleep. What more
can a ferret mommy want? He enables me to start my day with a smile, one
morning I was getting ready and looked down at my feet and there he was,
on his back, paws waving as if to say "look at me". Another morning he
was bouncing around the bedroom and he wrapped his paws around my leg as
I passed as an invitation to play and who could resist that, not me! I
have enjoyed every minute with this guy. He is getting used to Jilllian
but that is going slowly. He and Zoey mixed it up last week, both
screamed, both pooped and both latched on to the other. After they both
let go I held them, one in my arms and one in my lap and they both looked
like they had fought a war <g> Since then they haven't gone near each
other, the proverbial ships in the night scenario. Hopefully they will
eventually get to tolerate if not enjoy one another.
Julie told me she had me in mind for Casper when he came into her shelter
in Sept because I had told her that I had lost my cuddly boy when Wriggs
crossed the bridge. She is a matchmaker!!! Casper is a sable but he has
some cinnamon tone to his fur. He is a georgeous guy and has taken my
heart in his paws since day one.
Just wanted to share some good news and to thank Julie and her wonderful
work in sheltering.
Ann
