You are not alone in this scenario.  It seems that the draw of the duck
soup is more than most ferrets can handle under its spell!  ha ha.  Your
situation does have a light at the end of the tunnel...
 
Start by grinding up some of the kibble he use to eat before the
introduction of the duck soup and put a little bit into it.  Add enough
water to soften the kibble so that it is not hard.  And make sure the mix
is slightly warmed.  You can pre-soften the kibble in a separate dish and
cut in a piece or two when it is totally mushy.  Gradually, over time,
you will add more and more of the ground soften kibble and less of the
soup.  Eventually you will be able to increase the hardness of the
kibble, increase the size, and then stop the soup part altogether.
 
The amount of time you take to start introducing the softened ground
kibble to the final removal of soup varies from ferret to ferret.  You
will just have to see how it goes at first, and see how much of the
kibble you can add.
 
The key here is to make it undetectable from the soup.  You may find you
will only add a single small piece and then tomorrow add two, but you
will increase the amount.  It will just take time.  Be patient and you
will win this battle of wills!
