Dear Anastasia,

I wanted to express my sympathy over your loss of Demetri. It must have
been especially hard to lose your first ferret. It's so hard to know
what the right thing for them is when they are in pain. I'm sure you
made the right decision, to keep from prolonging Demetri's suffering.

I'm really dreading the day when my first, Clover, starts to go downhill.
She will be eight in December and has been fortunate enough to be free
from any major health problems so far, unlike some of her younger pals.
I just hope she lasts forever! My second eldest, Alfalfa (over seven),
has had way more than his share of ailments over the course of his life.
He is currently on four medications twice daily for insulinoma (pred,
proglycem, pepcid AC, and carafate), and he gets an injection of Procrit
(Epogen) three times a month for anemia. His fur is thinning, and he has
recently started to lose weight. But he's still a happy little guy when
he's feeling good, so we just try to enjoy each day.

My EG boy, Bucky, is doing well, I'm happy to say. How is Christopher? I
hope he is doing well too!

Take care,
Nancy and critters
