Our thoughts to those with with sick missing or angeled fuzzies.

For those that asked to be kept informed, Bubbles had his surgery on
Wednesday as planned. David the vet(who was doing his first adrenal on
a ferret) found a tumour on the left adrenal he estimated that it was
around a centimetre in diameter. Bubbles apparently made a big
impression on the nurses there who loved his friendly & gentle
personality, sadly the same cant be said for Rhubarb, who went along as
a "mobile blood bank"(repaying Bubbles for doing the same for Custard),
David, having got used to Bubbles being so laid back, made the mistake of
forgetting what I had said about Rhubarb and her teeth, his professional
opinion is that she is "very fast", it seems she never even looked.. she
just Struck! David paid tribute to Dr Williams site, it really did help
him to work out what he needed to look for, I am so thankful for this
list, for it was here that I first learned of Dr Williams.

After collecting them I got almost home and noticed Bubbles was losing
blood, so I rushed him back and we found it was just a small quantity
that was under his skin, but to be safe, Clair (another vet) decided to
see if he would tolerate a bandage round his tummy, and he seemed not to
mind.... at first

But on getting him home (finally!) I found he couldnt walk, and was
dragging his hind legs, then I realised he had pulled the bandage down to
his hind quarters so he couldnt use the litter tray either, I tried to
cut it off, but with a pair of scissors in one hand and a squirmy weezil
in another, there was just too much movement going on to safely connect
with the bandage, it was probably a funny sight..if only there had been
someone else here to see it. So it was back to the vets, also I had
noticed he was seeping a little again and wanted to be sure he hadn't
strained anything in the wound.

He is now asleep on the bottom level of the cage, I have zip-tied the
ramp up so the girls (who have the 2 upper floors to themselves for a few
days)cant disturb him. he has anti biotics for 6 days, and goes back for
a "review" before the weekend. I am still nervous about it all, but I am
happy that we got this far ok. hopefully, ny big handsome boy will soon
have all his body covered in fur again, I wonder if he will achieve that
before I finish paying off the vets bill?...lol (he is worth every penny)
I hope that maybe now things will quieten down for a while so I can
finally get some money for the car insurance, I keep putting it off, but
with winter coming I could really do with having it back on the road.

Me, Unkie Lee and the furkid 3 would like to thank those who sent good
wishes and prayers for a successful outcome, I guess you can imagine how
worried I was after Custard leaving like that.

Take care
Cris, Unkie Lee and the Furkid 3
Bubbles (aint NO bandage can hold me!)
