Well, one year ago CB moved in with Butch, Maggie and myself. It wasn't
supposed to be that way but...

CB was left at AC in Stamford, CT. I'd been to visit him a few times and
posted on the FML about how nice he was.

Jimmy decided that he would like him but couldn't take him right away so
I made arrangements for "foster care" and CB went off to stay with Auntie
Anne (FACT member) for a few weeks.

As the days went on she would call me and tell me what a wonderful little
guy he was, he played gently with the oldies, rough and tumble with the
"alphas" and liked people too. He was just the perfect all-round ferret
according to her. I'm telling Jimmy about "Mr. Wonderful" the whole
time.

Finally the day arrives and Jimmy is coming to get his baby boy. Jimmy
drives 90 minutes with Buster (his previous rescue though me) with his
girlfriend and we all meet up. I'm holding CB (Anne had named him
because he was so handsome he should be in a calendar, hence Calendar Boy
or CB for short) and we're talking. We talk about 30 minutes and finally
Jimmy says, "ummm you're not giving up CB are you?" and I say yes, yes I
am I just want to hold him a little longer. That little devil was doing
something to by mind, he was sending me messages, "I want to go home with
you, take me home with you, I love you, I'm perfect" finally I said I
wanted to give him a shot at my house but if Butch and Maggie hated him
I'd drive him to Jimmy. Well, a year later CB is still here. Maggie and
he love each other and I truly believe he has helped Maggie during all
her problems with E.G. and other things. He plays with her and makes
her chase him. Butch feels that CB has no respect for personal property
(Butch's bed is Butch's bed, you can sleep in it if invited, otherwise
get out) and CB is a Socialist Ferret, everything belongs to everyone
equally.

So thank you Jimmy for understanding when I didn't give you the ferret I
promised and thank you Anne for recommending the "perfect ferret" for us.
May we all be together for many more years to come!

Connie, Butch, Maggie, and CB

"I am sometimes asked, "Why do you spend so much of your time and money
talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?
I answer, "I am working at the roots."
