Well, here we go again - ferret math. 1+1+1=5?

I had Jake and Fibi. Then, on the 4th of July, I took in two that
someone didn't want to move to Florida with and then added Smudge and
Meesa. Now, this evening, I'll be adding yet another little one to my
furkids. I don't know her name, but she is approximately 1 year or less.

Danielle, you posted last week about a ferret in Maryland that needed
help. Well, help is here. The little ferret from what I have found out
is not far from me, is living in a house with far too many animals and
not enough time for care. She has fleas and isn't getting much exercise
or attention. She is owned by a 13 year old boy. The father has
convinced him and his brother to get rid of some of the animals. I will
be picking her up tonight.

Smudge and Meesa came to me in a small cage, no hammy and only a towel
for the two of them to curl up in to sleep. The food was a mixture of
Meow Mix and a poor-quality ferret food (I can't recall the name but it's
the pelleted one with banana chips in it). Smudge was balding along his
back and sides. His hip bones and ribs were very evident on his large
bone frame (he's going to be a big boy when he starts eating the good
stuff!). I've had him for 3 weeks and his fur is coming in and his ribs
don't show nearly as much. He is very loving and will eat anything he
can get from me. He is a beautiful Silver Mit. Meesa is a chocolate
sable and very petite with the exception of a pot-belly. Tiny little
head, sweet almond shaped eyes (always looks like she's squinting) and a
big round belly. Will always take time out of playing (every 20-30
minutes if you want to set a watch) to check and make sure Mommy isn't
ignoring her or is okay. Sniff Sniff .. yep, she's just fine, gotta go
play now.

5 kids .... sigh..... Oh well, I don't have any hooman kids, this will
have to do! Look out Mom, you've got another grandferret on the way!
