One of our little fuzz butts is ill, he is now down to 1.8 pounds - was
almost 3 pounds 6 months ago. Itz is very active and a hearty eater.
Blood tests proved that he has elevated enzimes of the liver.
here is a list of the abnormal results:
CALCIUM 8.3 mg/dl abnormal/low
AST (SGOT) 69 U/L abnormal/high
CPK 384 U/L abnormal/high
LDH 720 U/L abnormal/high
URIC ACID 3.0 mg/dl abnormal/high
the following were in the normal range:
GLUCOSE, ALBUMIN, PHOSPHORUS, TOTAL PROTIEN, GLOBULIN, A-G, ALK-PHOS,
AMYLASE
Well my vet suggested for me to take him to a ferret specialist in
Chicago (over 2 hours away) Because she didn't know what else to do, and
I am willing to do so, but figured that I would ask here first, because
she said to put Itz on a low protein diet or a seinor cat diet. What
would consist of a low protein diet and even if I had to add certain
things together - what would I use.
Is there anything else that I should be doing for him?
She also has Its on 2 mg of Lactulose Syrup 2 x's daily
Also, since we have just moved - am looking for a more ferret related vet
in the Warsaw / Fort Wayne / Goshen area of Indian (I live in Pierceton)
Thanks so much
Barb & Itz and 5 other fuzz butts
