It breaks my heart to even think about it. I will be going into the Air
Force in January for basic. The frist thing I said was, Where will the
ferrets stay?? I've heard about ferrets living in the housing, but I'm
not sure what restrictions, or where they are allowed. Maybe if I get a
chance to request to be stationed somewhere...where is a good place that
allows ferrets? Will there be good vets in the area? My family has
agreed to take care of the ferrets while i'm gone, but how long? What if
something happens when I'm gone? Heck, I'd feel better if someone I knew
that had ferrets watched them...just in case an emergency comes up...my
parents aren't exactally good at telling when a fuzzy is sick...or when
to run to the emergency. I will have 4 months to teach them...but will
that be enough time? I DO NOT want my brother mike to take care of
them... right now he's taking care of Mojo (long story..he bought her,
got tired of her , gave her to me...wanted her back..I told him only if
he took care of her and foll owed what I told him she needed etc.) In the
last 2 months, her cage was cleaned out ONCE!! and the bedding has been
the SAME! I took her back from him and told him he's not getting her
back untill he cleans the cage and the bedding, but it's been 3 days...so
he's out of the question. I wouldn't want to bother a local shelter with
taking care of them because I know they probably have better things to do
and I dont know how long i'd be gone.

I tear up at the thought of possibly finding them another home because
they're so happy here. I've always read ads that say "going to college
and need to find them a home" I don't want to be one of those people..I
think once you get that pet, you are commited to that animal and owe it
the best life you can possibly give it, and if you can't then find it a
better life. One day I may have to give up my fuzzies, but I will
explore EVERY possibility before I make the final decision. I guess my
main question is, IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY, AND HAVE FUZZIES, PLEASE
EMAIL ME WHAT IT'S LIKE, PLEASE!!! I could really use some experiences,
stories, how to find animal friendly housing, etc.

thanks a MILLION!
