Hi
First off, thanks for your advice on VanGuard 7. I am trying to find
alternatives but few drugs are licenced for ferrets in the UK and I
cannot get hold of the vaccines that I have used in the past. For those
who were worried, the vet was prevented from administering the vaccine.
In response to Amy, I too have had little joy in finding evidence to
support annual vaccination. I live in an area in which diseases such
as distemper are not uncommon. This is in part due to a large number
of strays and the fact that canine vaccination is often avoided for
financial reasons. I lost my first ferret because I was told by a vet
that I was wrong to worry about hyper-oestrogenic shock. Since then I
have refused to do what a vets says just because they say it. I too
would be keen to hear arguments for and against annual vaccination from
both professional and experienced subscribers.
