I've always had a mental picture of a panda being basically
black/silver/whathaveyou and white, but can pandas come in the full gamut
of ferret coat colors? It occurs to me that perhaps Seti is technically
a panda, since his entire head is white. From the neck down his coat
shifts into a very pretty (not that I'm biased) light gold, with pale
milk chocolate guard hairs on his rump, flanks, legs and tail. I realize
that a picture would be worth a thousand words, but the best I have at
the moment shows him in his baby coat at three months, here:

He looks like he has a slight mask in these pictures but really, he
doesn't. His eyes are ruby, ruby red. His hearing seems fine as far as
I can tell and he's a pretty robust weasel, weighing in at about 4 pounds
now at 11 months. But it would be good to know whether I should be a
little extra vigilant about his health down the road (although the way
I'm capable of being a hypochondriac over my weasels' health, that's kind
of like saying whether I should continue to drink water or not, or
continue to breathe air or not).

Is that my business? Well, what is my business? Do I know? Did I ever
know? Let s not go into that. You re not human tonight, Marlowe. Maybe
I never was or ever will be... Maybe we all get like this in the cold
half-lit world where always the wrong thing happens and never the right.
