Hi friends m,
 
You may remember a year or so ao I was asking for folks to please sign
up to be a bone marrow donor- we were looking for a match for a wonderful
ferret friend Jeanne S.  Well- I sadly report today that Jeanne will not
be haviong bone marrow procedeures at this point.  On her last round of
chemo to help build the marrow her immune system took a huge hit- she
developed an infection in her lung and another in her brain.  Jeanne has
been hospitalized for more than 3 weeks now with at least 2 more to go.
Her recovery well- lets just say her months are numbered.
 
Jeanne S for any who were fortunate to know her- is a gifted artisan her
painted ferrets on totes, shirts even ties ( Dr Williams has one) always
made a hit.  She also created prints and wooden ferret angel figurines
which were all sold to defray medical care for abandoned ferrets in NY.
Her geerosity also crossed the miles and she and her husband Jim crerated
the trophies for the annual Ferretstock events each year.  Jeanne gave
her all to help ferrets all over the US..  now we can help her.
 
Her brain has caused some weakness on the right side ( hand, foot ) and
the doctors want her to open her own mail / cards.to gasin some control
and strength ..  can you see where I am leading???  Jeanne has also got
memory problems and has trouble communicating BUT she can read and her
short term memory is working.  If you know Jeanne S please consider
sending along a card or a short note.
 
and if you don't know Jeanne but want to wish her well- please do.
Jeanne recognizes names and it prompts memories for her..  and it would
be comforting for her in her room to know others are praying for her and
keeping her close in thought.  If she has not met you please don't be
afraid to write- "we have never met-- but my thoughts are with you "...
 
That I am sure will mean a lot to her.

Thanks for reading and considering to send a cheery card.  It I am sure
will mean a lot to Jeanne to know she is not alone - I left her a 2003
Ferret Calendar with her on a recent visit and her eyes popped looking at
the ferret pics - she does miss her own so.. so I am sure pics would be
most welcome.
