Hello all ~
I noticed some discussion earlier as I caught up with my FML mail, about
using letters after a name. To me my letters mean an awful lot of work.
They mean a lot of sacrifices for my family as well. I kid you not, for
5 years I read only textbooks, not one novel in the bunch. I didn't do
any writing either, sold not one story...just studied. So my M.S.
(Master of Science), CNC (Certified Nutrition Counselor in-the-works);
and ND (Dr. of Naturopathy) mean a lot to me.
I also find that being out in the world, having a private practice that
is growing by referrals, that people just feel more secure if I can show
them I studied herbs, not only grow them, and have a pharmacy background.
Many of my patients are in their 40's and 50's, some older and I guess
that generation just puts a lot of credence in advanced studies. My
younger patients don't seem to require it as much.
Just my take on the subject.
Warmly ~
Mary
