>>I brought home a 3 year old male ferret a week and a half ago. He was
>>given up because he has unusual growths on his head. There are 5 of them
>>and 4 are a little smaller than pea size and the one above his eye is
>>approaching grape size. They haven't changed in size since I brought
>>him home. Our vet said how weird I've never seen this before. His skin
>>is red in places and smelly.
>I would recommend removal and histopathology of the masses. You don't
>mention if the places where he is red and smells bad are associated with
>the masses - if so, removal asap is indicated. If not, consider a
>possibility of adrenal disease.

[Sukie note: Please, just ignore and forgive all of the quote marks. No
reason for Bill to go to extra work over them and I'm not up to it, yet;
will blow it if I try. I've been a touch ill and kept bouncing some lists
back and forth till I could get to the computer on which I wanted to save
them to tackle, but wasn't unable to go over the ferret barrier into that
room for a while. I am willing to risk botching up something of my own
when ill but not something of another. The ferrets got extra attention
from Steve so don't worry. BTW, newies may want to know that the ferret
health list can be located at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ferret-Health-list/ ]
[Bill note: But I DO try to fix quote marks, so ignore Sukie's note
telling you to ignore them ;-) The major reason I moderate and format
the FML is to make it easy for people to read -- it might take me an hour
or two, but it saves the readers thousands of hours! BIG]
