We have received word of 2 ferrets in Lawrence, KS needing a good home.
Their owner can not cope with their health problems and she is moving to
Florida in a month.
There is a girl, Bebe, 5 1/2 yrs. old with Insulinoma and a boy,a bit
younger than the female, who is border-line adrenal. Their owner will
provide their cage (not asking for any money) just a good home that can
care for these 2 (together, as she would rather they not be separated).
Unfortunately, Norman and I are not in a position to add 2 extra to our
crew in the next few months.. I do not have reliable, daily transportation
(transmission went on our van) - so can't get home during the day from
work, etc. to give the insulinomic girl extra attention/feeding. We are
moving (giving up our home and the non-drivable van) due to conversion of
our bankruptcy from a Chapter 13 - to a 7. We found a place to move to
(that has no problems with us having ferrets (reptiles are okay also),
but it is smaller than our current home. We are also trying to find an
inexpensive, but reliable vehicle as I am currently (awkwardly) sharing a
vehicle with my ex-husband,
If you are able to give these 2 a good home (or know of any good leads on
a home for them), please e-mail me off list and I'll get you the contact
info.
Due to our life being so hectic, I've gotten way behind on reading the
lists - so I hope I haven't missed too much over the past few weeks. We
lost a ferret but acquired another one. Bandit passed over to the Rainbow
Bridge and Little Dude entered our home and hearts (especially Norman's).
He is a 4 1/2 month old male, whose owner's decided they didn't want him
after all and left him at PetCo (when Norman was working). They wanted a
refund (they'd had him for 2 mos.) but didn't want him after all. Nothing
wrong with him. Sweet personality, chills out on your shoulder and never
quarrels with the other ferrets and almost always uses the litter boxes.
(the others seem to pick on him a lot, but no wounds and Little Dude
doesn't seem to mind - just squeals a lot and goes right back into the
midst of them)
