Okay, a contest: but all you get are my thanks.
This contest is a take-off on "Where's Waldo" and "Where in the World
is Carmen..." but with no pictures.
The contest is ta-da: "Where the Bloody Heck Did Ashling Hide My Spare
Pair of Glasses?!"
Suggest a spot where the glasses may be...
Broke a frame today while blowing bubbles for Scooter to play with.
Found that the other glasses where not where they had lived -- a spot
where Ashling was once found about 8' in the air on the top of case.
Figured that since they are a similar shape maybe the lenses could
transfer to them, but...
The more outlandish the suggestion the more likely it is to be accurate,
and I WILL look in all that are not impossible!
So, here is what we did: we ran off to the eye glass place where we
explained that we are pinching pennies and were able to buy a pair of sale
frames that my lenses could be cut to fit, then Steve and I walked around
for about an hour during which I couldn't really see shapes since I am
legally blind without specs but colors really leaped out at me and I found
myself more aware of smells. The supermarket fruit juice and fruit and
veggie aisles were especially fine for colors and provided a real show.
Then I got my new glasses for $49 since that place charges for grinding
and mounting when the prescriptions are new rather than when frames are.
Then we rushed home and got Warp to the vet for her Lupron shot, and
picked up some z/d for Scooter, and two prescriptions and spent about 10X
as much. Hey, at least we have our priorities right...
Do be warned: we once had our guys swipe a folder of photos and did not
find them for 8 years even though where they finally showed up was an
area which had been disassembled completely at times, so they must have
been moved around.
Oh, and Steve was at a meeting in a restaurant today and got stopped by
someone with ferrets whose 4 year old just had to tell him about Raisin
and their other two ferrets. They use the same vet so we mentioned them
to JM when we went in with Warp and were told that he admires their little
one's intelligence and way with animals. Good kid. Good vet. Good
ferrets. Good taste.
So, where do YOU think Ashling may have put those glasses?
