Hugs and dooks to all.
I went into a petstore in Prince George, BC and they had a very, very small
cinamon baby ferret. I noticed in the cage that there was dry food in the
dish and the litter box was quite high and big in the cage. I asked the
lady working there how old the kit was and she said 12 weeks, I argued
with her and said no way. My boy was 10 weeks when I got him and he was
alot bigger than this little girl. She said she would go check and come
back and tell me. I asked her where they got her from and she said she's
a marshall ferret from New York. She came back and looked at me pretty
guilty saying I was right, from her papers she appeared to be only 7 or 8
weeks old. I asked to hold her, she was so sweet. I told the lady to
moisten her food, she's too young to eat hard stuff, and get a smaller
litter pan in there. Also to put some toys in for her and a hammy, they
had her sleeping in a milk jug with pine shavings. I told them, get rid
of the pine shavings and put a soft blanket in there. The lady did what I
asked her. I told her this little one is too small, she still had a raw
looking belly from the spay. I wish I could have taken her home, but I
couldn't afford the $249 dollars they wanted for her. I told them I would
be back from time to time to check up on the ferrets they bring in. She
was pretty meek about it and I have gone back numerous times but they have
not had another ferret. I asked and they said they are having a hard time
getting them from Marshall's?? Anyways the experience I had turned me off
of Marshall's because they sent this little one out so young. I really
don't think they care, they just want money. Sorry so long but I had to
throw my 2 cents in.
