Hi FML,
I saw an ad in the local Shopper's Guide for 3 ferrets for sale in Camden
County, NJ...Lindenwold area. I first saw the ad about 3 weeks ago and
wanted to post then, but it was thrown away. Here is the ad as it ran
today:
FERRETS, 2 males, 1 female. Healthy, well-cared for. Extra-large cage
and all accessories included. Paid $600.00. Best offer. NOTE: 3 weeks
ago she was asking $300.00 for everything.
I called the woman who ran the ad. She sounded like a very nice person
who wants to do right by the ferrets. She has 3 kids ages 10,13 and 16.
The ferrets are only 4 months old and have had their complete distemper
series. She just started a full-time job and they are also moving soon.
The kids aren't being responsible like she had hoped, so their care is
falling on her shoulders. With the new job, the ferrets aren't getting
out as often as they should, so she would like to find them a new home.
They are all DEW (cream with black eyes and gray tail tips as described by
the owner). They have a nice 3 level townhome cage, are litter trained
and do not bite. I have her permission to post her phone number on this
list. I neglected to get her name and the ferrets names, though. Duh!
Anyway, her number is 856-435-1186.
I gave her the number for South Jersey Ferret Sanctuary, just in case she
can't find them a home on her own. She really would prefer to not take
them to a shelter, though.
Gosh, I wish I could take them! It would be so nice to have baby ferrets
running around again. But my 3 geriatric kids need all my love and time
right now. I don't want them to feel slighted or put them at risk for a
new strain of ECE or ADV.
Let me know if anyone decides to call or actually takes them. I'd like to
know how it all turns out.
Dodie (also in South Jersey)
