Last night MystyGurl was out running around as is her norm. During a
brief exploration of my computer station I heard her start to gag. I made
it to her just in time to see her vomit a small amount of clear mucus.
My wife and I immediately consulted the "Ferrets for Dummies" manual and
thought it might be heatstroke (Monday was a warm day - even here in
Alaska) After cooling her off with a fan and damp washrags she seemed to
be fine.
This morning as we readied for work our little silver angel was dancing
and prancing like the best of them. At noon I came home to check up on
her and she was right there at the door to her cage wanting treats. When
I got home at 5 it was a different story. Mysty was trembling, holding
her head at a 45 degree angle (poss. neurological problem), and paralyzed
in the hindquarters. I immediately rushed her to Alaska Pet Care (my
apologies to anyone sitting at Lake Otis and Tudor when that red truck
blew by in a flurry of tire smoke and debris) All she wanted to do is
curl up and sleep. Totally unlike my little one, Right now she is under
24/7 supervision and being treated for dehydration until the lab results
come back in the morning. Needless to say, the wife and I are sick with
worry.
I am not asking anyone for money - she is our girl and we can afford any
treatment she needs - but good thoughts and (if you are so inclined)
prayers are most appreciated.
Sandee - she is only 8 months old. Unless she is in pain - PLEASE let
her stay?
Dale, T. Rocky
