My ferret, Snickers just came home from the vet's and has been diagnosed
with adrenal. The vet said he is not a good candidate for surgery because
there is some kidney damage (his BUN was 81 and he said normal in a ferret
is between 10-45) and he was not sure if Snickers could withstand the
anesthisia. Snickers has a very enlarged prostrate and became blocked and
was not able to urinate. My vet gave him Lupron to hopefully shrink the
prostrate (he said it also helps to shrink the adrenal tumor) What he and
I would both like to know is how quickly does the Lupron work on the
prostrate? He would also like to know of any info on the web that might
be of help..most specifically about Lupron.
Right now Snicks is home but his condition is fair-guarded. On top of
everything else, he has a bladder infection! I'd surely appreciate any
good thoughts, prayers, etc. for him! This is so emotionally draining
as I lost my other two boys (BJ & Cody) in October and my cat Bingo, in
December.
Thanks for any help.
