glue traps

Yesterday's fml incuded a post about using glue traps for mice...

Glue traps are coated with a very sticky surface. Mice caught in glue
traps don't die, they just try to pull themselves off after people throw
them in the trash. Can you imagine what kind of gruesome injuries they
get when they try to pull themselves away from something like super glue?

Aside from being terribly cruel to a mouse, glue traps will do the same
to an inquisitive ferret. Is it worth the risk that your ferret might
end up losing skin (literally) if he gets caught? Most likely it would
not be possible to save an animal who was injured like this.

My personal opinion is that these traps should be illegal. Until then,
please don't take the risk of doing serious harm to your ferret, or any
other living being who feels pain. Surely there are more humane ways of
keeping mice out, such as blocking off their entrances with steel wool.
