We started using a wood pellet type stuff which is actually used for horse
bedding!  as well as small animal litter.  It is working even better than
wood pellets and will hopefully be more available.  I threw out the bag so
am not sure of the brand name.  It was only slightly more expensive than
wood pellets.  We got it at Tractor Supply Co. (where we were getting the
wood pellets before they ran out for the season).
